There, in as much,
In deep humiliation
On account of their sins,
A love which had been given,
But they denied.
They were to renew their vows
And were to enter in
Into a covenant.
It was a period
Of great awakening
And of revived life.
They had heard of this assembly,
And had come up against it.
All life would be empty
Until it was made right.
Charged with great fury,
As if they were awakened.
Commemorated as a sign of victory,
Correcting their wrongs
To make them right,
All that the universe.
Had given them,
Yet, they loved.
And they made it right and in favor,
Joining their love again,
And death to life, they arose,
When the two lovers were given,
This word;

Mizpah.
