Life Above The Mat- The Ipad Man

Life above the Laundry-O-Mat
At the Suds and Duds,
It can be interesting,
Occasionally, enough.

I live above the Launderette now
It’s where I met my boyfriend,
Where I meet all my friends, and
My best friend, I fell in love there too.
Living above the Laundry-O-Mat.

It’s a place where you can share stories
And do more than just a load at time.
I no longer at the Laundry-O-Mat,
Instead I am at the Launderette
Close to where Jim Bob Chuck lives at.

But before I left here, Picture Man came by
You know he wanted to take pictures,
With his IPad, calls himself Ipadphotographer,
Or something like that.

Says he’s a pro photo man, but I don’t know,
He wanted to take pictures of my flat,
And my home above and the Mat.
So I told him, show me some cash,
And I will think about that,
After all, why should he get it all,
Some of the royalties should go to me,
Don’t you think…

So he unfolded it neatly from a laundry bag,
Sweetly, he laid it out and gave me a fluffy stack,
Unlaundried, cleaned and green, right there,
I could not believe it.

And I said, “What do you think this is,”
A brothel or something like that, I said,
“I can’t take that in here, take it upstairs
There are camera’s in here, I said.
Stomping one foot, with my hand on my hip.

You need to show me more than that
We just laugh and smiled and repeated,
“Asking me to stomp one more time”
And I just laughed.

So I told him, “Hey Ipad Picture man,”
“I will show you the flat and the Mat,
You can take photo’s of the it and the flat
Looking for nothing outside of that.” I said,
Just leave the cash on the table.

When I told him that, he laughed,
Ipadphotography man accepted my offer,
Leaving the cash donation on the table,
Then I let him shoot all the photos he wanted
And he was happy, So i gave him a lifetime
Laundry pass and beer for free, Kind of,
He’ll have to come to get it.

How about it, it’s the first time
I’d ever seen anything like that,
I never seen that much cash in a bag,
And that’s all I know about that.

So life goes on, Life above the Launderette,
It ain’t so bad, because I love Jim Bob,
And he loves me and it feels good too,
To have someone and something like that,
I feel like dancing …If you know what I mean.

I Love You Jim Bob Chuck!

Thank you Ipadphotograhy man!

    • It”s glorious, its a village community, bakery, fish and chips, post office, bar, hardware, flats above, quaint and near a park, safe, and life is a slower and laid back. I love it there, nex.t to the ocean. I’m lucky

      • Yes, you are lucky. It looks like Paradise to me. A place to breathe and just BE. It’s simplicity is the beauty. And to be near the ocean is my dream. OH! To be near the ocean. Did you hear my sigh? (smile) xx

      • Yes I heard, and I find my self so excited I can hardly stand it, I feel like a little kid again. This is my dream come true. I’ve always wanted to live this life,

      • Then YOU have given ME hope, Catnip. How I long to live in beauty by the ocean, quiet, secluded, yet not too far from others. Thank you from the bottom of my Heart for igniting my Dream once again. (((HUGS))) and with tears.

      • Dear you are like electricity to increase or decrease the voltage and currents of characteristics alternating and flowing as by means of transformation. And you showed me your pink peonies, oh how could I love ever another flower better than she…

      • Just for you, I shall show you more of my peonies, big beautiful fluffy ones. I sit here stunned how you have described me. I know my “frequency” can be high, and I work at times as a catalyst. You nailed it. To a tee. You, my friend, have great powers of observation, and are a true sensitive. I applaud you. Catnip, our connection today meant so much to me. Coming out of an extreme life and death scenario to be talking to you, someone I respect so much, really meant the world to me. May your evening by Blessed, and hopefully you caught a glorious sunset. I did last night. And then some. But, before I post that, I am posting Peonies probalby on Weds. for YOU. I offer you myself in quiet abandonment knowing that what is to come, you shall fall in LOVE with. Good night, Sweet Light. Good night and Sweet Dreams. xxoo

      • And I thought I was the one that was blessed. Then will come my graffiti, Some really like it and others have more talent for the craft. But I remember back during my first writings that I was convinced that I had somehow weakened, but I kept on because I wrote about my feelings of course forgetting about how it turned out. Now its the only way I know how to write. I think its my best thing, expressing feelings.

      • For some, like you and with me, writing our feelings, is therapeutic. Most of my writing I do not publish, for I have yet to have the confidence for others to see it. Yet, those pieces I have published that are very personal, others have responded to very positively. Today’s post for example, I was honest as to why I went on a photo shoot, not saying the what behind the why, but none-the-less, I expressed how I was feeling. I set out for Petals to be a place of inspiration and encouragement, so I must measure what I write with that concept. I have much more to express and I shall in the right time. When we write from the “Heart” everything just seems to make sense and come to its own natural conclusion without any effort on our part. … Anyways …. mornings are my busy time of the day, so I must go for now. I look forward to the “flower lady”. (smile)

      • A poem for Amy~

        When Amy writes,
        Even in a reply,
It comes to me like poetry,
        Thoughts become complete,
Each word is a rhythm in sync,
It is a Piece of my heart,
A small part of me pours out,
In a few words in one heartbeat
        at a time.

You could write 6 line short poetry easy. Write like when you speak to me.
        inspired feeling me. I’m touched.

  1. Catnip, due to my LIFE being so busy with Rusty, I haven’t been reading these stories. This is SO good! I love the way you wrote in “broken English” and I just love this story. Please keep writing. You have one fan right here in me. Love, Amy

    • Really? thanks, It started out to be just a whim. It’s about an ordinary girl, Caitlin, on her own for the first time and about the people she meets in the family owned business; a laundromat. I don’t really get that many comments on Life Above the Mat, but I get a lot of likes. Jim Bob wanted me to write about her, but we can’t stay in bed all day now can we? Hahah!

      • *shriek* Not me! Oh no! I know it’s not easy to write. You need a beginning to pull in your audience, a middle, then of course an ending. And to bring it all together to make it flow. You are up to the challenge. (smile) You watch. This story is going to catch on. Get your brain cooking getting ideas from different sources. You have such a great imagination. Let it play. *laughing*

      • Your awesome. Thank you. My silly brain keeps me awake at night sometimes cooking. I use to get paid to think before I retired from my employer. He used to say, I don’t pay you to do the work, I pay you to think.” True story.

      • I do so believe it too. I see it in your work. Your brain is unique and I for one, am amazed by what comes out of it. It is so cool to know that someone out there is really using her brain. Sorry it is keeping you up at night, though. If more people would use their brains … if only. Your boss was a very smart person to listen to a woman’s brain. (grin!)

      • I need to use it more. what do they say, if you don’t use it you lose it. I love the history of things. I should have been a great deal of many things, but archaeology is fascinating. I love going treasure hunting in flea markets and old shops and markets. I cant wait. And farmers market and fresh fish shops too.

      • Use what instinctively comes natural to you, your interests, your curiosities, your passions, and fly with those things. I used to be seriously good in math, until I stopped using it. I was also very good in English and that is what I flew with. I love treasure hunting as well, but more so in Nature. To seek and to find brings no great JOY to me. I like you love to seek that “golden nugget”, just “knowing” when I find it. Don’t loose what you have. Weave it together to create New Life. Yours.
