Breadth of Life

IMG_0165.JPG
That bridge of land that led me
To this place, to you
The earth is my body
But as long as I have breath and air,
I implore this life
Give me leave to sing.

In an emerald realm
Not very far from here
The love of a woman for this man
And of her potent heart.

With every kiss,
Revered thus fair
Their union is a sacrament
As ancient as the Earth
Limitless and powerful
Nought could lay it to waste.

Love in itself is enough
With commitment and trust
Sometimes discovered in hardship
But overcome in love
In the breadth of life
Where she breathed her life
Into his.
