In one sentence, my thoughts made alive
through my lips, explaining myself,
and I realize that I am a mess, sometimes,
but a beautifully constructed one.
“*My thoughts are stars,
I can’t fathom into constellations.”
by John Green, makes my mind run
a mile a minute, all over the place.
It’s exciting, can’t hardly just stop
and smell the roses, when in all actuality
all I want to do is to stop and smell
your sweet scent, sweet and red and mine.
I want to say so much and do great things
And I will but I get caught up in my thoughts
do you hear me speak nonsense.
And that thing with your book, Don’t stop.
When you realize the inexpiable
about yourself and make them explainable,
and if not at least a little bit understandable;
you’ve overcome, made life bearable.
Not to escape life, but to make sense of;
to live vicariously through another,
more interesting, the will to live again,
it’s worth the late nights and the mad thoughts.
It helps you find the part of yourself
that you never knew you had,
thought never could find,
that helps us make it through.
*Quote by John Green
“Help Me Make It Through the Night”
Take the ribbon from my hair shake it loose and let it fall
Laying soft against your skin like the shadows on the wall
Come and lay down by my side till the early morning light
All I’m taking is your time help me make it through the night
I don’t care what’s right or wrong I won’t try to understand
Let the devil take tomorrow but tonight I need a friend
Yesterday is dead and gone and tomorrow’s out of sight
And it’s sad to be alone help me make it through the night
And it’s sad to be alone help me make it through the night
Oh I don’t want to be alone help me make it through the night
~ Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge
One of my fave songs.

Great music and true words. No-one can make it alone. We need someone to tell us we are okay and we will make it. I hope you are having fun and enjoying your new home.

I’m glad dear Poet. Years ago when I was stationed in Honduras. I adopted two girls who parent had died. I send money to my wife mother for 10 years. Other day. One found me in Michigan and she came. Left me a four year old girl name Sophia. Dreams of travel are fading away for the Poet. I will be the grounded writer watching the kids grow.
