Life Above The Mat- Without It

Life above the Mat, in the Launderette
At the Sultry Suds, it can be interesting,
Occasionally, enough.

I lived above the Laundromat
It’s where I met my boyfriend at;
Where I meet all my friends,
My best friend too,
It’s where I fell in love,
Living life above.

It’s a place where we can share stories
And do more than just a load at time,
It’s a pub & suds if you’d like to pop in,
For some fun, sometime.

People come here to wash and buzz,
It’s close to where Jim Bob lives at,
He helps serve and drinks the malt and ales,
Helps for what ails you too, and anything else
If you might want to drink and talk about it.

Well, My cat and I got detained
By immigration
And maybe it seems
Cat had no passport or visa
But luckily we got temporary entry.

At the Border office or
Something like that.
So We got sent back
Both of us, yes It’s true
When I said I don’t have one
They just said, “too bad for you
And goodbye.”
So now we are going back
To America or something like that
Gonna a drink a stiff one,
It’s back to life above the mat.

After that we will get to drinking
And no celebrating something
Jim Bob won’t be pouring,
Until I get my Cat’s Visa back
So we were still able to
To do it like that,
We’ll have to wait before
We can fly back like that.

I’ll just have a cigarette,
A few shots of vodka
Fill out a VISA Application
Get passport photos and
Pay all the fees and all that
Then we can laugh afterward.

Anyways, the appointment
Is today and I’m going kind of
Stir crazy waiting until 13:00
If you know what I mean.

Jim Bob is anxiously waiting
Occasionally he says, “I can do it
And I said, I like it a lot.

Now that we’re on plan
To do it like that,
But except this VISA thing
I didn’t have it and we couldn’t go,
So they sent me back on the plane
Or something like that.

So I left with the worst itinerary
Flying all day and another night
It’s the worst with no reservation.

Who do you think I am,
America Airlines or something
Or some charity case
With no home to go to like that,”
I said.

“Its not so bad,” Jim Bob said;
Two days and nights
In the same underwear
It never hurt no one…,” he said,
“And I won’t even make you have sex
The first night when you return
if you don’t want to,”
And I said, “well I guess; alright then”
“Maybe, I’ll just go to sleep when I get home.
Maybe just do it the next morning,
I guess,” I said.

But that was enough talking about it.
I will just really want to sleep
So I will just gave him
A quick one.

We just laugh it about it now
And that’s all I have to say about that.
Except that he wanted me to believe
That it was going to be alright
Or something like that.

Whatever that means,
As long as I don’t have to fly for awhile
That’s if you know what I mean.

I guess it will be alright.
How about that, it’s the first time,
I’d ever seen anything like that,
I never been detained before
Made to feel bad about being
And that’s all I know about that.

So life goes on, Life above
I’m here with cat at the Launderette,
It’s not so bad, because I love Jim Bob,
And he loves me and it feels good too,
To have someone to be married
To someone who understands like that.

Life can be good like that,
Even if I am an American
With a Cat with no VISA
And so one day we will laugh
About it someday, but not today;
If you know what I mean.
